KYC

After more than active 2 years, my home loan account just disappeared from my online banking profile. After filling in the online contact form AND speaking over the phone with 4 diferent departments (all cost beared by myself and being on hold for more than 12 minutes) I was eventually informed that my home loan has a hard hold on, due to it not being KYC compliant. I was then informed that I needed to send ID documents and proof of address details through for the hard hold to be removed.

Firstly, I find this completely unacceptable, since I was not informed by the bank that I need to submit documents. How was I supposed to know? If I did not inquire after logging in online, the hard hold would have been on my home loan for who knows how long.

Secondly, I don't understand the logic or reason behind why I need to submit IDs and proof of residence again after having the home loan approved by the very same bank and departments more than 2 years ago. If this is standard practice, someone needs to have informed me about this, at the very least!

FNB markets themselves as being the better big bank option, but I completely disagree!
