JUST A NUMBER

An attachment of debt order was granted (incorrectly) against me and served on FNB for a payment. However, my account was in overdraft, and there was no debt to attach.

Without consulting me or having the courtesy to inform me, my Cheque account was frozen, and I had no access to my funds.

I have not been able to contact anyone to help, and emails to the legal department have gone unanswered. I have now had no access to funds for four days, and my stop orders are due to go off in the next five days. If my account is frozen, all of these will be rejected and I will be in breach over the various agreements relating to those stop orders.

It is worth noting that compliance with an attachment of debt order does not, in my and my attorney's opinions, entitle the bank to freeze my account, and place me in such a precarious and prejudiced financial position.

I have been a customer of FNB's for over 20 years, and to be treated in this manner is just unacceptable. "How can we help" indeed.

I have not as yet had any feedback. I’ve tried to call this department, who inform me I need to get hold of the ***** department. When I’m transferred, I am out through to Telephone Banking. Does FNB actually care about it’s customers? I don’t think so..
