Join FNB to LOSE Your Money!
Do not consider FNB as a option for a bank unless you want to lose money. Yes, you will lose more than you thought. You make a budget purchase and they add it to credit card. It looks harmless, until you have the budget portion paid off, but in their view it is not paid off. I made a R12000.00 purchase over 6 months, paid it off within the time, so no interest, only the normal card fees, but now I have to pay an extra R8000.00! Why on earth? They tell you that they deduct it from the straight portion, but if you pay off the budget, then they do not see that as valid. So, they rather take more money and the account never gets to zero. They continue to deduct, to *****. And this was not the first time either. The problem is, I paid off the budget portion but they cannot write the straight portion off against what was paid over into the budget account. Accounting principles says that is a book entry, not a recovery from the client, which means that they do not adhere to accounting principles, but keep on taking. According to the definition in law, that is theft, *****. The only positive thing about an FNB account for me is the share saver account, but losing as much as this is no longer worth the share saver. eBucks? Get real! That is worthless! I should get a lot more eBucks than what I am getting, so even on that you just lose. And fuel purchases, it is not a foregone conclusion that you will get back the maximum. I checked. Even a colleague complained that after more than R2500.00 spent on fuel and he got less back than what he was supposed to. So, I opened a case, over six weeks ago. To date, absolutely no feedback. And that is from a private banker. They may not care about this review, not even look at it, especially with all the 1-stars they receive, but hopefully someone else will learn from this. As soon as this is resolved, I am cutting ties. I can find another share saver option elsewhere.
