I've been ****MED by FNB sales representative!!!

Good Day

FNB- life Policy

As one of the most reputable banks I have chosen FNB as my personal bank and with the great extra service they render I have accepted a Life Policy for the family via the friendly staff telephonically.

The telesales lady informed me to nominate beneficiaries, she also told me that I can add my mother as a beneficiary In the event if anything occur I can put a claim through for my mother towards the funeral arrangements, as at the time she was my main concern. My debt orders have been deducted swiftly monthly for 3 years and still is. My mother succumb on 13 February 2024. I immediately called FNB and was advised to go to the nearest FNB branch to submit the claim with Death certificate and all documents required. The consultant accepted my documents and told me that FNB will keep in contact and advise further. A few days later I received a call from FNB I could not claim for the beneficiaries.

I was mislead by the telesales lady, on the day of taking out the Policy. As I have asked and ensure her telephonically that this was for my mother, which was what I needed at the time.

After numerous attempts of calling FNB they advised they will listen to voice recording of the telephone call on the day and investigate further. As all calls is voice recorded.

During our time of mourning with loosing a loved one, I was left in despair with no financial back up to assist with funeral arrangements and all cost occurred. This is with sad acknowledgement that FNB who is such a large Organisation has not resolved my policy claim. My call attempts to the call centre have been back and forth telephonically, with no help from the consultants!!! I personally feel that the sales representative mislead me just to make sales. They also trying to cover this up as if I am at fault!!
