Its time to switch from FNB

This is a summary of the mail sent to Mr R Jacobs at FNB sent 6 days after my complaint on social media. He refered me back to the same department that **** to me to start with.I was promised a phone call..Im still waiting.. Stay away from FNB see below:

I had two Connect sims for work at R399 and R410 respectively. I knew that I needed to cancel them and was unsure of the cancellation policy so I phoned Fnb (this was in April). The staff member informed me that I would need to give a calender months notice. So I asked her to confirm that I needed to cancel my sims the beggining of May and that I would not be debited the end of May/first June etc.

I did as I was instructed and gave notice the first of May. FNB debited me for BOTH sims the end of May/1June etc. When I phoned to complain I was told it is because the one sim is post paid and the other pre paid. The issue of being given wrong information was simply avoided and no responisibilty was taken.

I then insisted that they find the phone call and listen to it and was told "they cant find it",after waiting over one week for an answer however,Thabiseng had no problem quoting me chapter and verse from phone conversations we had. Its all so convienant.

I was told to go read my terms and conditions, but still no one was taking responsibilty. This is literal hours spent on the phone, backwards and forwards sorting out what is FNB's job and responsibility.

I contined to be debited till July! This is advertised as a month to month product on FNBs website, which is false advertising. And all of this is just ignored and swept away with fine print and loopholes. In addition I was consistently told that I am happy with the "resolution" , as in Miss H so you agree that you are happy with the resolution and that this issue is finalized. I would keep saying no, only to have the same speech about fine print, terms and post paid rehe****d back at me again four or five times. Had I had the correct info I would made decisions accordingly. The original "customer service" I received cost me just over R2000 and Im not amused.

Its really simple the staff are either lying or *********** and cannot provide customer service.I suspect its both. Or FNB enjoys promoting a false product but once you have signed squeeze out an extra two or three debits knowing full well that the average person does not have an Advocate on retainer as FNB most certainly does.

To answer your question, I want R2020 paid back into my account. Im not interested in splitting hairs about post paid and prepaid terms, fine print and all the ******* excuses. Its the principle of the matter and putting your money where your mouth is. I strongly warn and advise all my friends and family to not do business with FNB and warn others on online platforms. Its time to switch from FNB.
