Items paid no funds

There are several amounts drawn from my account with ref" items paid no funds 24/08/2024". They are dated 14/08/2024, 13/08/3035 and 12/08/2024 respectively. The amounts are R45, R400 and R270. I did not even use my account to purchase anything on these dates since I was already in overdraft and I normally stop at a certain amount. What confuses me more is the 24/08/2024 date on the ref because we are only on the 15th of the month of August. I hope FNB is able to explain or repay my money.

Reviewer Update
I was called by a rude consultant who identified himself as Kevin from the complaints department. Kevin claims that the money they took from my already overdrawn account was charges for using money I was not authorised to use.

2022/2023 FNB gave me access to overdraft without me applying for it, I guess to give me an experience to lure me into wanting to continue using the facility. Late 2023 they randomly stoped it and one day I tried using the facility I got an “insufficient funds” error. The condition I was given by FNB was that I should upgrade my account to gain access to overdraft facility. I chose to not upgrade and not have access. Fast forward 2024, I accidentally use my account beyond what was available, payment went through and like the first time, I thought I was again granted access to overdraft. I use the facility for a couple of months until the above reported incident took place. Then today as I was speaking to rude Kevin (who asked my why I would use my account beyond the money I have, to which I responded that they could have told me I had insufficient funds again like they previously did) I ask him to send me proof that I app**** for overdraft before because he was now telling me I wasn’t supposed to expect overdraft when I did not apply for it, he could not even give me a” yes I will, or no I can’t” answer. Instead Kevin continued to ask questions as if he’s speaking to a toddler.

I told Kevin to make sure that they block whatever access I have to using money I don’t have. I have been a loyal customer to FNB since 2017. I even have other savings with them alongside the check account that I occasionally overdraw but I am done with this bank and their inconsistency.
