It appears that FNB's FICA administration is in disarray
My daughter received a threatening SMS stating that 'You are required to verify your details to avoid account freeze. Please visit your nearest branch or phone HelpDesk at ***'. She phoned the number numerous times and kept getting cut off. She then requested my assistance. I also bank with FNB.
I would like to know why FNB suddenly requires that she FICA's her account? She has had the account for many years and it was FICA'ed when she opened it. Now after all these years FNB suddenly DEMANDS that she supply the same documentation that she already submitted previously OR ELSE HER ACCOUNT WILL BE FROZEN WITHIN 5 DAYS.
This shows EXTREMELY poor administration on FNB's side. Firstly it shows that FNB documentation appears to be in a shocking state. Furthermore, FNB's attitude of simply sending a SMS threatening to freeze the account within 5 days smacks of arrogance. What if the customer does not receive the SMS for some or other reason.
In addition the HelpDesk number keeps cutting out and frustrates the customer endlessly.
I suggest FNB contact me VERY quickly in this regard or else I will take up this issue with the Banking Ombudsman. In addition if my daughter's account is frozen I will take further action.
