Issue of expired savings account bank card

The lady at FNB Morgenzon Mpumalanga says I can only receive my card that expires at the end of this month (October), on the last day of the month and not today (4 October). It is a savings account and I received a message in September that I must go to my nearest FNB branch to collect a new card. As far as I know you can collect a new card any working day during the month...or am I wrong?
