Is FNB's Help Price Gouging?

OPEN LETTER TO FNB:” How can we help?” Clearly not. To me: I have been a client of FNB for 26 years and have a perfect payment record and excellent credit rating. My request: I asked for a 3 month freeze on my bond and credit card. Reason: My revenue was already drying up and I expect it to disappear by some 80% or more. My expectation: The term on bond and card to be extended by three months and the interest not paid to be added to the outstanding capital. I am not asking for something for free despite the fact that many countries are giving the payment holiday at no extra expense to the client. The help: After close to 3 weeks I got offered a personal loan over 36 months for an amount that is at least double the interest for the 3 months and at an interest rate higher than what I pay on my bond and was informed in no uncertain terms that there would initiation fees for my account. There is no way to communicate with the COVID 19 app and everyone in the bank refers you to the COVID 19 app. Conclusion: FNB is more interested in pushing product and has no interest in helping. What they are offering is to give you a loan so that you can pay them the loan that you don’t have cash to pay. Leaving you further in debt when cash flow resumes. I know it is not helping nor is it ethical but need a lawyer to tell me if it is not the same as price gouging. David Sloan PS Standard helped in less than a week
