International Limit SO LOW I can't pay AirBNB or anything else

A few weeks ago a private banker from FNB contacted me to offer his services. I declined, but he stated he wanted to provide some advice anyway. He suggested we change one of our accounts to another one to benefit from higher interest rates. He actioned this immediately.

The next day I was unable to actually use my bank account and told that as a foreigner I was now seen as non-tax compliant and needed to submit documentation. I did as requested, as I always do, and nothing got resolved. I eventually had to call multiple times to have the account unblocked so that I could actually get to the money the private banker had already transferred.

To treat international customers this way is not very friendly, I've been a customer with FNB for over 10 years!!

I thought this was the end of it, so decided not to complain.

However today, I tried to book accommodation via AirBNB, when I am told the transaction was not successful as my international pay limit is too low. I am unable to increase it above a RIDICULOUSLY low amount.

Are you guys serious? First I'm treated as a new, non-tax compliant customer, and not allowed to use a bank account that one of YOUR private bankers suggested I get. And then I'm not allowed to actually transfer any money internationally???

I used to really vouch for FNB, but I am seriously fed up with this nonsense. You should get to know your customers and their profiles if you want them to stay.
