Interest rate not adjusted

After several attemps to get my interest rate sorted as promised I have choice but to contact the Onbudsman for further assistance. This is clearley poor banking practice.

Portia Mahlangu promised me a decrease on my Home Loan Interest Rate if I open a Cheque account at FNB. The agreement was as soon as my salary goes into my account it will be adjusted. My salary has gone in twice already and nothing happened. My debit order also went off with the old interest rate. I emailed her a few times and her reply was she was busy and out of the office. Its been 2 months already.

I tried to get help from the call centre. Spoke to Siaybonga Monaymane. He also made empty promises and nothing happened. Even ignored my email and I had to phone him 4 days later. I then spoke to a Gito who is apparently the Team Leader. He promised me a reply within 24 hours. Guess what.... no reply.

I feel that Portia got her commission for the account that was opened and couldnt care less after that.

Siyabonga is just passing the buck and I could here in Gito s voice this is just another old customer complaining.

FNB how can you appoint people that make promises and dont keep. I signed a document stating that my interest rate will be adjusted. Until now nothing happened. What did I do wrong? Who is in breach of contract here?

So FNB what do you suggest I do?
