Incorrect Loan Amount and Interest Charged

I went to FNB Phumulani Mall branch to apply for a personal loan of R7 000. The consultant assisting me erroneously processed my application for approximately R126 207,50.

I immediately told her I only needed R7 000. She contacted Head Office, and I was instructed to transfer the balance I did not need back into the loan account, which I did.

However, I later discovered that the interest was still being charged on the full R126 207,50 not the R7 000 I originally app**** for. Despite my attempts to have this corrected, I received no assistance. Instead, FNB handed me over to collection attorneys.

This error is entirely due to FNB’s mishandling of my application, yet I am being penalised with an inflated loan and interest I never agreed to.

I request that FNB urgently: 1. Correct my loan to reflect the amount I app**** for (R7 000). 2. Recalculate the interest based on the correct amount. 3. Reverse any ******** charges or penalties arising from this error.

I believe this is a matter of fairness and compliance, and I ask that FNB resolve this urgently.
