*********** - Home Loan Division

FNB staff have no courtesy or sense of compassion for their clients. And my reason for making such a comment is that around 3 months ago we received communication from FNB stating the our bond was in arrears of 100K. This really took us by surprise as our payments went through every single month and how is it possible that a banking institution as large as FNB would even let 5k go by unseen. We were terribly stressed as we had received notices that our home was going on auction should we not pay that arrears amount. The consultants from the home loan division would call my husband 3 - 4 times a day and sometimes dropped the call and don't even call back. They fail to realise that people have jobs and cant keep walking out of meetings to take a call only for it to be cut. Also, each time my husband had to explain to them that there is a note on the system that the matter is being investigated. The frustration of having to deal with *********** people plus the stress of possibly losing our home was becoming unbearable. We had to then take a loan of 100K in the event of us having the pay the arrears amount just to save our home, but that was temporary as we were speaking with our lawyers. The loan costed us 5K so far but the arrears amount was eventually resolved last month and we paid back the loan. FNB had no remorse for the stress and emotional trauma they had put us through. They never bothered to apologise for the inconvenience and not even a call to state that everything was resolved. They only sent my husband a very brief email. If poor service had a name, it would be called "FNB". If they can make such a massive error on our home loan, it leaves one to wonder how much of our money is being mishandled by them. Not my first bad experience with them but will surely be my last as were are both looking to change who we bank with.
