Impossible to obtain a bank statement

My mum in-law recently went in branch to get a bank statement of FNB account that was opened and wasn't used and then closed.

In branch they said that need to call the FNB business helpline. The FNB business helpline says the account is closed and they can't provide the full bank statement because the account is closed.

What a terrible service and waste of time that no existence of this account can be provided by FNB to the customer for something so that should be so simple to obtain.
