Impersonator ********* reaping off the banks using my name

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hereby wish to bring into your attention a matter which is of great concern to me as a normal civilian of this beautiful country. I am Mr Rabelani Makananise, with south African ID Number: 820 ********** 080 and I currently reside in an area called Lephalale in Limpopo. I have just discovered that I have just been impersonated by someone who claims to be me and that person has already taken money from FNB as well as African Bank using my name **********ly.

Since I am well aware of the fact that myself, I do not have any loan with any bank including the banks that I bank with “Nedbank”, I dismissed this claims from both the banks and African Bank advised me to go and write an affidavit at the nearest police station "Lephalale Police Station" since well they could see they got de*****ed.

The impersonator **********ly took a loan amount equating to R91000-00 at African Bank and R95000-00 at FNB. Both banks confirmed that the loans were app**** for through online application and were granted.

FNB refused to institute a formal investigation into the account they have with the impersonator as they claim, the account wasn't open by me so their process doesn't allow them to open a case however they advised me to visit the nearest police station "Lephalale Police Station" to open a case of identity theft, CASE NUMBER:64/11/2018 and they will only respond when they are subpoenaed by the Law enforcement to then assist in resolving this case. My concern now is, I am now carrying debts which I never app**** for and FNB's attitude towards my case is very unacceptable.

1. The impersonator never sat his foot at any of this banks nor signed any contract with any of this banks but was granted a loans amounts R91000-00 & R95 000-00 paid into FNB account which he as well app**** for through online application - I don't understand how his cards got activated or which address he used to receive his cards?

2. No finger prints of this person where taken as part of risk and assurance process by the Banks.

3. I have always been of the view that, 3 months bank statements, proof of resident not older than 3 months, 3 month payslips was a normal protocol observed by any bank? 4. Validating finger prints to match id to verify if the person applying for a loan was a normal process followed by banks? 5. I thought verifying employment with employer of the individual applying for the loan was a normal protocol observed by any bank?

6. I discovered at African Bank that the person submitted an FNB statement as proof of resident with my home address forged however, African Bank did request for an E-statement from Nedbank but it doesn’t seem they even bothered themselves to compare the statement they received from the *********, the statement was just for the month of August this year.

The impersonator statement at FNB bank shows that he receives salaries paid by Eskom who is my employer but I do not hold any account with FNB and I do not get paid into their bank, I have an account with Nedbank.

7. The ********* forged the my Eskom payslips which had so many errors that could have easily made it simple for African Bank to see if the person was a ********* or not I.e. wrong dependences, cost center, basic salary, overtimes & etc. Eskom pay slips contains bank details as well as account number but the loan was paid into an FNB account. 9. I have no account with FNB or have ever opened an account with FNB nor taken a loan before with African Bank

I have never heard of a bank giving loans of almost R100 000 -00 without any formal due processes being followed in my entire life – No contract signed, it’s the first time I hear of it and now I am expected to run around to clear my name. I really need your help in resolving this problem for me.

African Bank forensic investigator Gerald has been very helpful but without the help of FNB - his work cannot proceed. Whilst I sympathise with the bank, I am disappointed in their weak processes
