Impersonal service now appears to be their motto

I have banked with FNB for more than 15 years. I moved banks as I was attracted by FNB's excellent personal service and its innovative banking systems.

But the last two or three years have changed the face of the bank I once raved about to anyone who would listen. Each year they now reduce the rewards earned (ebucks) and also make it harder and harder to earn points. Their most recent change in July is the final straw. Unless clients download their cell banking app, they are no longer able to earn points at all. Apparently this is to promote online banking. But when I queried this stating that using my laptop to bank IS online banking and how can they guarantee security, especially in light of the recent huge Standard Bank MTN fiasco when thougsands of cell phone bankers were de*****ed.

The reply was a very rude email apologing for any PERCEIVED inconvenience....and no explanation as to how banking from a laptop is not online banking. Or how they will ensure secure banking.

I have now just tried to contact my branch (Sea Point) and the landline number is redirected to the call centre...where I was informed that clients can no longer phone branches directly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, of course, the call centre agent was unable to assist me.

For the first time in all these years I am actually seriously considering changing banks.
