If there were a zero, FNB would get a big fat one
Good day Nosipho,
Thank you for the reply and update. I will unfortunately have to decline your latest offer. The below issues inform the decision: I've had very poor service from FNB from the beginning of this deal, as mentioned before, I have had to be the one doing follow ups on the progress, even after complaining about that and speaking to your manager Slindile, nothing changed, I have complained about the poor service from you guys to your complaints department and Hello Peter, and I haven't had any feedback on that as well, I have requested that Marlin Pillay be excluded from this transaction as he has treated me like an idiot at every turn, and yet he's name is still on the current home loan offer that you sent me, I have seen no benefit from being an FNB customer, you guys were just looking to just match your competitors and not provide value for money service to me when it comes to my home loan, - Please see below illustration of how FNB has really taken me for an idiot. The savings that are being offered I have already spent them paying for HOC insurance that was not necessary in anticipation of this deal being concluded. I would rather stick with an expensive institution that treats me well and gives decent service than be with FNB that has continued to show me how much of a priority I am.
With that said, kindly begin the process of closing up my accounts and advise what is needed from that.
Kind regards, Lesego

First quotation requested: Nedbank: 10.3% FNB: 11%
FNB is advised of this matter and requested that they out match their competitor. This does not happen instead FNB just matches Nedbank's interest rate to 10.3%. I accept the offer from FNB and advise that I will be moving to arrange everything to suit this deal, insurance included. I later advise FNB that the interest rate is not good enough and that it needs to be reviewed before finalisation. six weeks go past with no action, only after complaining do I receive progress and an offer of 10.33% from FNB, yes 0.03% higher than the initial agreement - with a condition that 0.25% will fall off if they are my main bank, which they are. I again express my unhappiness and complain ton Hello Peter about this, I am promised swift action in concluding this deal, A further two weeks go by without 'swift' action, I am again forced to request progress reports, When the progress report arrives, the deal is the same as the deal that has a 10.33% interest rate! Review of the deal returns with a 10.2% interest rate this time, all of the 8 weeks, the poor treatment that borders on humiliation is for a mere 0.13%
