I would not recommend FNB to anyone. TCF does not apply to the bank.
Fnb ***** department has disappointed me yet again. I've been with FNB since I started working in 2014 and I think this is where our journey is going to end. I had several transactions on my account which I had flagged as ***** on the 27/06/20424 for transactions that happened on the 26/06/2024 till the 27/06/204 amounting R1434.00. When I flagged the transactions on the App my card was immediately cancelled. On the 9th of July I went to a branch to collect a new card and made a follow up on my claim as i had not received any feedback or any reference number for my ***** claim, only to be told that my ***** case does not appear on their system and when i called the ***** line, they advised me they are unable to assist or view my case because they are offline. on the 15th of July 2024 at 14:00 i called the ***** department and the agent who assisted me on the phone told me there is no ***** case logged and she will log a case for me and my refence number will follow via SMS. to my Suprise at 16:00pm the very same day I received an email from FNB stating that they will not refund me because the transactions where authorized using an OTP (Which I never received) so in short, I've been ****med, and they aren't going to entertain my case. what I find strange is that this so-called investigation was done within a short space of 2 hours, whereas I had logged the dispute on the app 2 weeks prior to me calling them. My card got cancelled immediately after logging my ***** case, which shows that the query was successfully logged, however someone at FNB did not do their job. I am so disappointed, because as their client who has been with them for years, I did not expect to be treated so unfairly, and how I see it, I will be moving to a bank that has their clients' interests at heart. could this even mean the ****mers are working with the Employees, because it just does not make sense how I can lose so much money and my bank can't help me. I will advise anybody looking to open a bank account with FNB not to do so, whether its Family members or colleagues. My biggest challenge is that I recently started a new job and payroll at my workplace has closed, I would change banks ASAP.
