I regret ever being an FNB customer
In November 2018 I took out a personal loan with FNB and everything went well at that stage. I also took insurance for it that should I ever not be able to have an income then the insurance would kick in. To my shock, in November 2019 when I wanted to make us of the insurance because I was going on 4 month maternity I was told that I would not be able to use it as I was self-employed and the insurance did not cover people who are self-employed. Mind you, none of my circumstances have changed from the time that I app**** for the loan. To date, I have been taken from pillar to post ttrying to resolve the matter. in the meantime, the loan has since attracted an interest of over R30 000 yet nobody in the bank seems to be able to help me. I then decided to close all accounts with FNB and just move to another bank in June 2020. Guess what? I received a call today to tell me that my cheque account, which I went to close at the branch in June is overdrawn with R500+ and the only I can be assisted is if I go to the branch and the person that assisted me on the day to ask her why she did not close the account. Over the past 11-12 months I have spent hours calling, going to the branch and emailing but nothing came out of all that exercise. So ladies and gentlemen do business with FNB at your own risk.
