Generally, I don’t need to contact the bank often, but when I do, it’s always a frustrating experience.

I recently reported a ***** case on 27 November 2024, and while I appreciate the importance of security measures, the handling of this situation has been extremely disappointing. My account was locked, and I was unable to transfer funds between my own accounts or process debit orders. This has caused unnecessary stress and could potentially impact my financial credibility.

What’s worse is that despite spending hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue, I’ve been transferred between multiple consultants, with no one taking accountability. It feels like I’ve been passed from pillar to post without any resolution. To date, I have not received a response to my emails regarding this matter, further compounding my frustration.

As a customer who is considering moving my home loan to this bank, this experience has made me question whether this is the right institution for my financial needs. I expect efficient and empathetic customer service, especially during critical situations like ***** cases.

I hope this review prompts the bank to address the gaps in their service and improve the experience for their customers. For now, I can only rate my experience as a disappointing two stars.

Thank you for your reply and email with a case number and informing me that you will likely / hopefully get back to me within 5 days on this rather urgent matter.

Clearly it does not mean much that you have escalated my concerns. I have forwarded you an email to the above email address to deal with regarding a debit order that has not been processed. The ball is in your court to fix your wrongs.
Kind Regards

For 3 weeks, I patiently fought for support, and eventually, FNB gave me a letter to pass to my debtors to avoid penalties.
The real issue? The shocking lack of support. I have recordings of calls where I got hung up on and others where I couldn’t finish a sentence before being transferred. Despite staying calm throughout, the service was appalling.
I was considering moving my home loan to FNB, but now I’m looking to leave.
