I called to find out why a linked account disappeared off my profile, they said because my kid turned 18 they do it automatically

I called to find out why a linked account disappeared off my profile, they said because my kid turned 18 they do it automatically. They give no heads up, nor communicate this. When I asked why, the repeated response was IM NOT SURE.
