Hurt and Disappointed
I am really disappointed with the service that I received from FNB.
I took a funeral policy with FNB last year after a consultant called and sold it to me. My mother in law passed away last week, I went into the Westgate branch after failing to get helped via self service where it gives you an option that someone will call you back. I ended up going to Westgate branch to find out what documents will be needed and the consultant explained what I needed to bring.
I then went to Horizon branch as there was loadshedding, where I was put on the phone with a consultant to get the policy number for the documents to be sent. The consultant that assisted me was so cold, she just said my policy is still under a 6 months waiting period and that they cannot help, she said my policy is left with only 1 week for it to mature, meaning I took the policy in August 2019, so I am confused if the first debit order went off on the 23rd August then it means they debited for the 6th month in January 2020. I then asked will I be refunded since they will not pay out she just said no they won't, that's how it is and that there was nothing they could do.
I am really disappointed with this service as I was really relying on this to prepare for the funeral this Saturday and the fact that my policy is only left with a week to mature and with then not even giving an option for me to at least pay the difference or meet me half way. I am deeply hurt and disappointed at FNB. Instead the lady just told me all she can do is remove the deceased to avoid me being debited.
I am still waiting for feedback.
