How can YOU help me????????
FNB is useless, pathetic and cannot do anything for me... I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received today from a bank I've been with for over 10 years. My wife left them 2 months ago, and I'm joining her. I've been in conversation with them for approximately 4 hours this morning, and none of their officials could help me. This morning a payment transaction of R706.03 went off on my account without my authorization. Prior to contacting FNB I investigated and realized that it was a service provider, to whom I made, what I thought, was a once off payment about 2 weeks ago. They came back and accessed my account without any hindrance from FNB. I get that the service providers are in this to **** people and there's probably a clause they might want to refer to that says I may have committed to some subscription. I'd like to confirm that none of that happened, to my knowledge, it was a once off transaction. FNB has opted to allow them access to my account without my consent, based on the assumption that I may have committed to a subscription. Why can't they prompt me to confirm if I'm aware of the transaction prior to letting it go through? If I try to do an e-wallet with FNB, the app prompts me to confirm more than once if I want to go ahead with the transaction...but a third party can access my account any time they want and take any amount they want. I refuse to believe that there is absolutely nothing that FNB can do to protect their customers from these ********. What really frustrates me the most is that this was done with my virtual card which supposedly has a CVV number that expires every hour. So there is absolutely no benefit to having a CVV that expires every hour, because all the merchant has to do is claim that you committed to subscription, and FNB will grant them access to your funds without your consent. Maybe they benefit somehow from these transactions, because they make way too easy for these ******** to get away with this. I have failed to get FNB to reverse this transaction, there is an investigation that they are conducting and their official couldn't confirm what I stand to benefit if the outcome of that investigation will come out in my favour. It is my view that FNB doesn't have my best interests at heart, they are happy to let me go because they couldn't even put me through to their retentions department. In fact, the lady I spoke to said they will gladly start the process of closing my account as soon as I have a positive balance. This is after I had to withdraw the little money I had left in my account to prevent these guys from coming back into my account. Perhaps I don't meet the demographic of their preferred customer.
I have made up my mind, I'll find a new home somewhere else...I am leaving them...
