How can we NOT help you

I had to put my Sanlam policy down as security a while ago when I app**** for my overdraft. This policy was due to pay out on 17 June. On 10 June I contacted the branch manager at Claremont branch in Cape Town, Heinich Cupido. He ensured me that he would start the release process of this and coordinate with Sanlam for the funds to be released, he told me the process would take roughly 3 days.

On 26 July I had still not heard back from Mr Cupido. I contacted the Claremont branch and was told that Mr Cupido is now at Rondebosch branch. I was also told that no one at Claremont can help me and that i need to contact Mr Cupido at Rondebosch. I contacted him and he ensured me within 2 days I will have my funds.

On 1 August I still had had no further feedback, I contacted Mr Cupido again and failed to get hold of him at Rondebosch, I contacted my branch at Claremont and was told that they wouldn't help me, as Mr Cupido had started the process and he needed to see it through. I find this hard to believe, this is my main branch, surely someone there should be able to help me. They gave me Mr Cupido's cellphone number.

This morning (2 August), I contacted Sanlam directly and asked whether anyone has contacted them to request the release of the funds. They told me no one had contacted them regarding the policy. I tried to contact Mr Cupido again multiple times, on his office phone and cellphone without success.

He refuses to help me and my branch (Claremont) refuses to help me. So what do I do now? Isn't your logo meant to be "How can we help you?". You have failed, I have never come across a more unhelpful organisation.

I want this matter resolved before the end of this week, as I will be more than happy to take this to the local newspapers and tell them how FNB is refusing to help me.

Hi Melinda

To date nothing has been done on this. We had a call back on Friday, was promised feedback by Monday. Nothing! I followed up today with Sanlam, they said no one has approached them regarding the policy. The person who called me on Friday is now not answering their phone.

I have never ever experienced such terrible service. This needs to be sorted out before the end of the week and I want the money paid into my account.

I will not hesitate to take this futher.

Regards

Tanya

Timothy Martin resolved the matter in a week, what on a previous occassion wasnt done in 2 months! His service was amazing. We were kept informed throughout. I blamed FNB, but you cant judge an organisation by one bad apple. Saying that, Timothy Martin has given me the great service I am used to receiving from FNB. Thank you so much, your amazing service is really much appreciated!
