How can we (not) help you?

At 08:50 this morning I received a bunch of sms confirming debit orders paid from my account. Then I checked my bank account online and noticed that it was in debit of approx. R8000, due to these debit orders. In fear of the account being in debit and the already deducted debit orders being unpaid, I immediately arranged for funds to be transferred from another FNB account. I checked the balance and all was clear i.e. no debit balance anymore. However, after 14:00 this afternoon I received a bunch of sms's about failed transactions and unpaid. I couldn't believe this because I transferred funds this morning and I also didn't receive sms's warning me that I don't have funds for the impending debit orders and that they will be returned unpaid if I don't fund my account! I checked my bank account online again and there is a R100 charge for each unpaid debit order. This is a lot of money and I'm certain it could've been avoided had I received the necessary notifications in time. It was therefore a pointless exercise to arrange for a transfer to fund my account and now the full balance is again available and there's no help from FNB to get the debits deducted like they were in the first place. I'm stressed and these are tough economic times, where FNB can't have the decency to let a customer know in advance that there aren't sufficient funds in your account. I also feel that there is NO value-add in having a personal banker, as by the time I noticed what happened, the suite was already closed and the service centre couldn't help except say "yes mam....you need to phone all the providers and arrange to have the amounts deducted again...". Well we know that won't happen as debit orders only run certain days of the month! Also when I funded the account FNB ensured that they deducted the money for the temp loan, however, couldn't ensure that the already deducted other debit orders go through! Please help me to fix this mess and restore my faith in our country's banking system...
