How can we kick you?
From the beginning of this year I landed up in a couple of very difficult situations, which includes a serious car accident with my company car and being liable for all repairs on that, as well as being seriously ill from January through to early April, and thereby not being physically and mentally able to work/trade and earn an income and subsequently all my funds in my business and private accounts, both cheque (which includes an overdraft) and credit card accounts being totally and utterly depleted.
Once I finally came back to the position where I was back on my feet again and able to work, I was faced with the uneasy truth that I needed to start making amends, I was hit by a round of debit orders going off on my business cheque account and by the time I finally got round to "knowing" that the thing to do was to put stop orders on the variety of debit orders and, furthermore, that there were also different types of stop orders that could be put in place, e.g. for a range of amounts, 16 penalty fees had been charged, which amounts to R2,985.92 - this when I had R0.00 in my account.
So, how does the following scenario in any way make sense?
None of my service providers received a single cent, I, who was sitting on a balance of R0.00 go R2,985.92 into debt and FNB enriches themselves on the back of a faithful, loyal client who decided to bring all of his business over to them a couple of years ago?
No one has been able to tell me what actually goes into the penalty fee of R186.62, but it doesn't make sense to me AT ALL how an automated, system-generated transaction can cost that much. Neither does it make any sense that, if the Pricing Dpt. is willing to refund me 50% of the penalty fees, how it not possible for them to reverse 100% - that's if they wanted to "help" me?
I would like to request a 100% reversal of all the penalty fees that went off from 31 March and onwards, as I was not in the position to deal with things properly in this last time.
I would like to plead my case with FNB, seeing as your slogan is "How can we help you?" This, to my knowledge, would be the only time that FNB would really be helping me, in the true sense, if they reversed the nearly R3000 that enriched themselves only - and left my service providers penniless and me R3000 further in debt (when I only had R0.00).
I am heavily considering taking all of my banking over to Standard Bank at this time, as they seem to be a much more understanding bunch.
This complaint is an attempt to let people know how FNB kicked me when I was lying down.
So far, my Business Relationship Manager at the Vaal Mall branch, Charmaine Dobie, as well as the Regional Manager, Yudesh Singh, have been unmoved by my situation and the realities that I have conveyed.
Please let me know how this situation can be resolved in the quickest way possible.
Yours sincerely, Nathanael Fourie Linguisticano (Pty) Ltd
