How can we help you? What a load of BS! Run for the Hills!
I was a client with FNB for many years. Back in 2013 I started my new career and money I was earning a good income. All of a sudden my credit card account limit was raised from the R10K limit that it had to a R150K limit and I get offered a black premium card, with a private banker. A bit irresponsible from the banks part. As a commission earner(no basic salary) I took the advantage of the extra credit and in a year or so later with market conditions changing I was in trouble. I arranged to have the card paid back with the bank. They handed the card over to "THEIR" attorneys which I don't believe. The outstanding amount on that card after having paid the bank more than R80K back over the years is still at R150K. I feel the bank is being very ********* in it's business practices and the their new attorneys that were appointed after lockdown, now charging a fee from their side on the outstanding amount too are totally clueless about the payments that have been done thus far. The consultants from Brooks & Luyt attorneys can't even communicate properly with their clients and don't understand the questions I ask them. Attorneys with a call centre of untrained phone handlers working of scripts. How legal is all this? I've explained to them since the start of lockdown and until now I've earned zero in salary and I am unable to go to work, due to lockdown restrictions and various government and local departments not currently working to facilitate payments of commissions due. I have tried to make contact with the bank through their legal channels online and no response in over 7 days. "Someone will contact you soon" is part of the SMS received. And no one has!!! Stay away and be very careful of FNB. If you can take your business somewhere else then do so. They don't give a hoot about their clients. All run remotely without anyone to talk to, to try and sort anything out. And the people that you get to talk to are supervised "robots" with a scripts. The chances of even getting a call back from them after reading this is probably ZERO as they don't really give a damn.
