How can we help you ................NEVER!

I have sent three emails to First National Bank via the online banking website to seek clarification about the new rules that effectively disqualifies those who do not use cellphones for banking from earning e-Bucks in the future. I have had computer generating response emails promising responses in 1 working day but have never received a courtesy of any human generated respnse. This has been going on for near three weeks!!!

Here is just one of the reference numbers I have been given: CAS-836493-Y7R6J9 .

Seems to me all this "How can we help you" claim is just smooth sales talk. They don't really give a ****.

Why do businesses expect everyone to have and use a cellphone. I don't use one and the number given belongs to my wife.

It appears that FNB does not have a clue about what they are doing.

I am trying to clarify the basis on which I earn ebucks. I received an email notification regarding changes to ebucks and the use of the FNB banking App. I do not have or use a cellphone or tablet and have no intention of doing so. I use a Windows laptop for my banking and log in regularly to maintain my account. I appears that your ``App`` does not run on a PC. Some guy Mohammed at Fnb called me today as a result of thie HelloPeter review who stated that Fnb now requires customers who wish to benefit from ebucks rewards are now forced to use a cellphone for their banking. On the other hand a person I spoke to at ebucks today claimed I am unaffected by this requirement and will still earn ebucks as before. Can FNB now please clear up this confusion as I fail to see what method I use to do internet banking can effect my ebucks entitlement.

I recieved a patronising email from someone called Muhammed which. to say the least, I find condescending offensive. I have responded to him as follows:

So it has taken three weeks for you guys to cobble together what is patently, codswallop!!!

"However we are aware that some of our members may have difficulty and may be hesitant in using digital platforms".
I have been in the computer industry developing systems since 1969 and still maintain systems for a major retail chain. So don't tell me I am am "hesitant about digital platforms" I know more about digital platforms than you ever will. I just don't need to be a zombie dependent upon a potable electronic comforter.

"The FNB Banking App is easy to use ..."
Please explain how it is easier to use than your current website, a full size screen and full side keyboard?

"Moreover, the FNB Banking App is less vulnerable to phishing ***** because the device is tied to a password and FNB’s security systems."
Please elaborate on this statement. Especially why the password using a cellphone offers greater security than a password on a PC?

And tell me this. Are you guys incapable to writing a app that also runs on a PC? It is very simple to do.

Btw, I spoke directly with someone else at ebucks yesterday. He told me that because of my profile I would be totally unaffected by the the change and would continue to earn ebucks as before. Have you guys not got your act together?

I await your response (if you even bother) with interest.

Regards

I object to being treated like some dumb geriatric idiot . There is simply not any good reason to force clients to stop using one efficent, easy to use technology in favour of another.
