How Can We Help. FNB

My daughter is currently studying medicine in Zambia. We decided to buy her a used vehicle from Zambia as it was getting costly using the Yango service. We had located a vehicle with a dealer there. I made the Forex payment and immediately it went off my Fnb account together with the relevant charges. Days went by and I kept checking for an outward fee, that is how you know the beneficiary has received the payment but nothing was reflecting. I called the bank several times only to be told by the Forex consultants to give it a few days and that they were unable to trace the payment but that it was received by the bank in Zambia. I knew something wasn't right and after 5days the beneficiary kept checking and no payments was received. I kept telling FNB this and the consultants were like robots, telling me they will re call the money and the charges implications I would have to pay. My frustration was that not one consultant including the manager had any empathy with regards to the situation, they could not tell me exactly where the money was sent to. It was not sent to the beneficiary's bank which is not FNB as he checked several times and spoke to his bank manager as well. We even tried to contact FNB Zambia who could not assist even though I had a reference for the money that was sent. To this day no one has contacted me or advised me which bank my money was sent to. They keep saying we have sent a request to the bank and will wait for them to respond. I am disgusted with the poor service I am currently receiving, they say they will try 3 times to recall my money and if no response the case is closed. FNB south Africa sent my money to the wrong bank and now it is my responsibility to try and see how we can recover this money. They did not inform me that they would be sending the money to a different bank on behalf of the beneficiary 's bank. Their saying, How can we help is a Lie, no one is helpful and no one cares. Whether I get my money back or not only time will say.

Good afternoon Sunitha
As per our last mail you said Ambretha Govender from the Forex Department will be contacting me. To date I have not heard anything from her. Previously I did send her and her manager mails and both of them have never rep**** to me.
There was absolutely no transparency from the Forex Department from day 1, my husband and I kept asking them which bank was the money sent to and all the consultants told us they cannot trace the money. On the Forex website it clearly says you can track your money anytime These consultants have access to the systems and they could not tell us where the money was sent. Eventually after persuasion from us, Ambretha told my husband, it went to a 3rd party bank, FNB Zambia. Why was I not told this initially, how was the money from FNB Zambia going to get to Atlas Mara Bank in Zambia if no one instructed it to be sent accordingly. That is why the money is sitting at FNB Zambia. It was the incompetence of someone at FNB Forex that did not do their job properly that has brought us to this frustrating situation we are in and no one has had the decency to accelerate this horrible situation they have placed us in.
I will not pay the swift fee, I will not pay call back fees or any other fee that FNB will want to charge me, I am not responsible for a banks mess up. I want my account to be credited from all the fees and charges that FNB is very quick to put onto customers.
FNB has put my family and me through an emotional time of frustration, the consultant we spoke to last Friday said very politely, we will call back the money but if we do not get it back there is nothing we can do. I am disgusted with FNB Forex. If I do not get feedback today, I am going to report this to Wendy Knowler and I will not stop until FNB is held responsible for what they have put me and my family through.
