How can we frustrate you today...

I'm an RMB Private Bank customer and I've got to say that far from the world-class private banking experience marketed to me, RMB and FNB in general, are experts in wasting my time, driving up my blood pressure, and excuse making.

Whether it's:

> A service suite rep who tells me that a transaction didn't go through when it did, resulting in my being double-billed and having to go through a few hours of headache to resolve;

> Systems that don't synchronise correctly and as such, have mismatched information for me;

> The e-mailing of my bank account statements to me in an unsecured manner;

> Their payment system going down and leaving me unable to pay for goods and services without sending me a notification to warn me;

> Usability issues with the online banking where it's easy to mistakenly provide incorrect information; and

> Passing the buck from one department to the next...

FNB/RMB succeeds at only one thing: frustrating me to no end. When faced with issues, it's almost always an excuse even when the bank is forced to acknowledge that it made a mess.

There was a time where FNB was synonymous with innovation, problem sovling, and great service... sadly, that time is a fond memory...

It's lovely that a formal complaint is logged, that you'll be in contact, that you apologise; however, nothing changes, which makes your response have very little meaning if any at all. What would be a genuine surprise is if going through the motions on this occasion actually results in a meaningful improvement...
