Horrific Experience with FNB Merchant Bank

What an horrific experience I had with FNB Merchant Bank yesterday in an attempt to sort out a problem.

Our Telkom Lines and internet lines have been off since the flooding we had in Edenvale last week. Due to this we are unable to use our Merchant Card Machine as this is linked to a Telkom Line. The business we are running has been loosing business as we are unable to use the card machine and clients are walking out the door. We then decided to contact FNB Merchant Department to enquire as to whether we are able to get a machine that is not linked to any Telkom lines. Now we do need this machine as a matter of extreme urgency.

I started contacting them yesterday morning at approximately 08h15 – I have been holding on since then – my airtime ran out – I had to buy airtime to contact them again (R110.00 airtime, to be exact, just to try and sort out one little problem, which is still not sorted) – then held another 2 hours and got to speak to some-one at approximately 10h00 then was cut-off then again holding on talking to someone at 10h30. After explaining my situation the person gave me options – I can either use the Wi-Fi with cost of R450.00 per month which will only be available within 3 days – I then enquired if there is anything else that can be done earlier. I was then told that we can get a “mini-link” and same will be at our business within 4 hours – the cost of this is then R350.00. I then requested for this option.

After waiting for four hours, nothing has arrived, I then contacted Merchant Bank again holding on – running out of airtime, again! etc etc. eventually talking to someone to enquire where this machine is – I was told there is no such thing and I should contact XLink – which I subsequently did do (now I am furious with the kind of service that was provided) I again was told by XLink that I must speak to FNB - The lady at XLink was very helpful and said that she would get someone to contact me. A Lady by the name of Elandra contacted us and said she will look into the matter and contact me back by latest 15h15 yesterday (Wednesday the 16th) with a solution.

Up and until now, the afternoon of the 17th ,no contact has been made as promised. I was patient, this morning, waiting for Elandra to contact me, and then decided, I cannot wait any longer – I contacted FNB, holding on again for over an hour to talk to someone, wasting airtime, once again, I eventually got connected to a gentleman, which name I cannot remember, but he informed me that Elandra is not available – I light of the fact that I do not want to hold on for hours to be connected to speak to Elandra I requested this gentlemen that she contact me as a matter of urgency – here I am, sitting, waiting, for someone to assist me with my problem. Horrific experience!!!!!!!!!
