********** service Nigel FNB

On the 9 September 2016 My father and I visited Nigel FNB for bank statements. He is not well in health and uses an oxygen tank to breathe daily and throughout the night. He is permanently disabled and cannot stand or stay long periods without the aid of his oxygen. A lady at the branch by the name of Mahlodi was very unpleasant and unprofessional when dealing with us. We understand that everyone needs to wait in lines and no one gets preference however if someone is living on oxygen and as we explained to her the situation I feel we could have been assisted quicker. As a person with knowledge of banking services I know a bank statement can be done by anyone on verifying identity which is a simple fingerprint verification taking seconds. My father has banked with FNB for many years and is loyal to the brand but this experience has dampened his feelings for FNB. There where staff who had no clients at service but he was not directed there considering his health state. The lady then told him to wait as he does not have another option. I do not believe that to be true. What happened to how can We help you? The slogan is true but not being practiced by all staff in branches as evident with Mahlodi's behavior. We then went back to the bank on Saturday the 10 September and met with Mahlodi again to get her name in order to bring this to attention of someone higher and when we asked for her name Mahlodi responded by saying "what for" no greetings or anything and then followed by saying she has other clients to assist and directed us to the security guard who would give us her name. This is disgusting and people like Mahlodi will lose clients for FNB. Furthermore should my father have fallen ill in the branch after us having explained his situation to Mahlodi we would have held FNB responsible as Mahlodi is a brand ambassador of FNB. We want a written apology from Mahlodi personally for the pain she has caused my father. This is not how people who are old and not in good health should be treated. My father is not happy to use alternative channels of banking as he prefers the intimacy of the branches but this experience has changed our perception of how banking should be!
