Homeless and disappointed because of FNB
I have been a loyal client to FNB for 6 years and have had pleasure in using them as my primary bank.
I have had a terrible experience these past few days.
My partner and I app**** for a home loan through FNB which was pre-approved and granted. With this, we sold our house and planned to move to a new house on which we made an offer. We are now homeless due to the fact that the home loan was declined on the last minute.
FNB decided to re-evaluate our home loan on the day registration of the property would have taken place. This was on the 25 August 2021. On the same day we were informed that the application for the home load was rejected.
Also, on the same day, I received a letter dated the 4 August 2021 explaining to me that I have 20 days to settle an amount outstanding within 20 days. The letter was sent 21 days after the date on the letter. I was then listed on ITC without any chance to settle the account.
The outstanding amount was for a Temporary Loan dating back to December 2020. I don't understand how I have an outstanding balance of R879.75 for a Temporary loan when they take the whole amount when your first salary gets paid.
Secondly I don't understand how I had never been informed that there was an outstanding amount. I had not received any correspondence by either Email or phone informing me of this outstanding amount.
And lastly I don't understand how this was not discovered when the application of the home loan was first approved.
We are now homeless as our house had been sold and registered and our new home has just about fallen through as we don't have bond.
