Home loans dept. - Refund refused upon closing of account for overpayment (#***105)

I got the home loan statement today from the Home Loans dept. reflecting that the debit order that went off my account for the home loan for August was used against the settlement made by the new owner (ex co-owner). My share got sold to the co-owner at break even.

I paid my share (50%) for August, the house got transferred to the new owner (ex co-owner) on the 12th of August - hence, the bank should refund me for the rest of August at 50% of the full debit order that went through my account. And not offset against the new owner's settlement amount!

This is totally, utterly unnacceptable! **************** by the attorney firms who dealt with this and by FNB - who I thought was a bank of intergrity!?!

I have asked the Home Loans dept. THREE times to give reasons for the non-refund and the only response I got were the dates of the debit order, transfer date and the statement! No acceptable response and reasons were given.

Please respond in full with reasons.
