Holding your clients hostage

On 1 Jul I went to a shop and was unable to pay due to an expired card. The error message didn't convey this and FNB didn't notify me that my card was about to expire either (they used to), I only realised it when my sister told me her card expired and I looked at the date.

On 5 May 2017 I called the call centre. Firstly the agent there was dreadfully rude and I asked to speak to a manager. The validation questions was so ridiculous i.e. they wanted to find out when the last time was that I made a cash withdrawel but my statement didn't have it on it had a 000 code... They clearly had access to my statement and could see who I was, but because of 'policy they were unable to validate who I was based on the other 100 items I read out from my statement. The original agent then said that it would take 3 to 4 business days to get my new card (

I then logged a message on FNB site earlier this week as I need access to MY money and I was unable to withdraw money from my cheque account. I also wanted to find out if the delivery address was correct as I see my statements have still not been corrected even after I have gone to the bank twice to update my address. They then send me a mail saying it takes 7 business days. Still I have no idea where my card is or what the actual turn around time is. I have not heard from any courier company. WIth the service being as poor as it is one would think that it's a free service, but no I have to pay R150 for this delivery.... !!! Just for it not to be delivered.

I started off loving FNB but every single time I have to interact with you guys it is a nightmare. This is not a complicated things, this really is just a card delivery that you guys got right previously. I am really trying to be patient but if you do not log things on hellopeter nothing gets done. On Monday morning I will report you to the Ombudsman if I don't have my card yet as this is a commodity service and I need access to my money.
