High-Risk Client Exploitation | FNB Refusing to Stop & Reverse, Unauthorised Debit Orders, to drive increase in Sales of "COVID-19 Relief," Insurance Product.

FNB is deliberately exploiting existing clients, to drive successful increase in sales of its "COVID-19 Relief," Insurance product, by deliberately removing all capabilities (branch, cellphone banking and e-platforms), to Stop and Reverse, Unauthorised Debit Orders.

On 6 April 2020, I received an SMS notification, that 2 separate Unauthorised Debit orders, were paid from my current cheque account. I then contacted the Service Suite to request my money to be paid back into my account, because both amounts are in excess of R200, and was told that ALL DEBIT ORDERS CANNOT BE STOPPED & REVERSED, Instead.., The banker offered me to take up "COVID-19 Relief," should I not have sufficient funds, which is an insurance product offered by FNB Life.

I am appalled, that I am being forced to make use of unfami**** banking behaviour, of which I previously had the options requesting through safe, innovative and risk-free solutions.

FNB has deliberately removed all capabilities (branch, cellphone and electronic banking) of mitigating risk, by allowing unauthorised transactions to be successfully paid from my current account, forcing me to transfer money out of my existing cheque account as this is the only way I can pre-emptively keep my hard earned money safe.

I am sincerely disappointed by this blatant public relations strategy, to increase the sales in FNB Life Insurance Products, under the guise of "COVID-19 RELIEF" which is revealing to be nothing, but a clever form of public relations, by exposing existing clients to successful execution of unauthorised transactions.

It is in bad taste to deliberately exploit profits, amisd an existing crisis, and mere words cannot describe the unfathomable level of my disappointment I have with FNB.
