Hidden 32 days notice

So I recently found out that I was getting less interest on my 32 day notice account. Instead of getting the 6.95% that is shown on the site, instead I was getting about 4%, soon after this I brought this discrepancy to the banks attention. They then showed me that 4% interest rate was linked to the Interest Plus account, which was discontinued, and the 6.95% was linked to the Flexi account. This meant that I lost about 2% of the interest of my capital per month. It must also be noted that the interest percentage that I was receiving on the account was not present on their site, instead I had to take time out my day to visit a branch to determine the amount of interest my account was receiving.

I then questioned why I was not notified that this new account existed or why I was not transferred over to the new account. Their reply was that they did not notify any of their clients about this transition but instead they placed adverts on billboards and adverts on TV, none of which I have seen. One of the passing by staff members said that we should using our online banking to check these changes.

Is this acceptable to make your customers check every day to make sure that a new account that replaces their account exists? Is it okay to not notify your clients about these changes? Also how can an account be called Interest Plus when it receive one of the lowest interest rates on their site? Seems like false advertising to me.

I am mostly writing this review to notify as many FNB customers that they could be losing interest on their capital and to show how deceptive FNB can be.
