Hello Peter - FNB's new support department

It seems like Hello Peter is a direct channel to FNB because it's only when I lay a complaint on this platform does any sort of resolution come to pass. If so, then so be it.

I completed and submitted a debit order dispute form on 19 July 2021 for a transaction that went of my credit card on 18 July 2021, as usual, I got an automated response from FNBs system acknowledging my request/query [REF:***]. The query was a simple one, I took up a 2-week subscription with an online vendor (resume template design) which I paid for upfront, and at the end of the 2 weeks (18 July 2021), they debited me for a full months subscription. My request was for the transaction to be reversed as I did not authorize it and I had since canceled the subscription. Furthermore the website (not South African, but trusted, usually*) has extremely vague language and all ability to see cost and packages disappear after your purchase an option from them. Since 19 July 2021, I have called in more the 4 times, the first 2 times I was told the turnaround times for these matters are 30 days which is ridiculous but I accepted it nevertheless. The third time was a month later (30 days) to follow up. between the second and third calls, I received 2 calls from a very rude lady who insisted that I cancel my credit card and report it as a ***** case. I refused and said that there must be another option (I know this because I had a similar issue with LinkedIn earlier in the year and the money was reversed and the matter was resolved), the call ended with her going to find out if there were other options to explore. She called me back about a week or so later saying that all she needed was communication from the vendor to say I canceled the subscription and that should suffice. she insisted that this option was presented to me on the first call but I didn't remember it. ( I would have remembered this as this was the process that was followed with my Linked in query from earlier in the year). I provided the evidence of cancellation on the day of the call as she requested. The fourth call was made today to follow up but as usual, FNBs IVR system will do everything in its power to prevent you from speaking to an actual person and rather direct you to an automated process. It is now a month and a half since the original query and I haven't heard a word from FNB regarding a resolution. I make so many calls to FNB that it sometimes seems easier to lay a complaint on the Hello Peter platform in order to get their attention/assistance.

Good Day,

Is this just a tickbox exercise? you called me once, the call rang twice and the call was cut by the time I could pick up. I responded to the email sent shortly after, requesting the evidence. That was on the 2nd of September and have followed up twice since. How is this a "high-priority complaint" when no one even responds in a month? High priority complaint ***
