Handling of Case
I am so disappointed in how FNB have handled my case. I have just been informed that they won't waiver the excess however, I would have spent ALOT less than I did had their electrician done what he was supposed to do when he came the first time I called and then on top of it all you left my family in danger for 7 days assuring me that someone would call and they didn't. I have been a loyal customer with FNB for many years - close on 18years and now I am considering moving my insurance and my bank accounts away from FNB. I am so disappointed and angry with FNB.

03 Apr 2025, 15:21I have just spoken with the complaints department regarding my case and have been informed that my excess cannot be reduced. This is extremely disappointing, and as a result, I will no longer recommend FNB as an insurance provider. Additionally, I will be exploring other insurance options and moving my coverage elsewhere.
The damage to my batteries was a direct result of FNB’s negligence, which put my family at risk, and I am now expected to bear the cost. While I understand that a power surge may have damaged the motherboard, the batteries failed due to a prolonged power outage, which caused them to drain beyond recovery—something that could have been prevented. FNB’s refusal to acknowledge this responsibility and rectify the situation is unacceptable.
I will be sharing my experience on HelloPeter to inform others of the risks associated with using FNB for insurance. Furthermore, I am considering moving my banking services elsewhere, as I see no reason to remain loyal to an institution that does not prioritize its customers' well-being or take accountability for its mistakes.
I expect a formal response addressing these concerns.
