Half cover on claims

I lodged a claim on the 5th of December regarding my neighbor's tree which had fallen on our electric fence. Kandua was appointed to do the inspection, and only after my follow up, Kandua sent the report to FNB and the claim was approved. The repairs were done on the 21st of December, over two weeks later.

On the 23rd of December we noticed that the fence no longer stays on during load shedding. I reported to Kandua on the Whatsapp group they created for this claim. The contractor said the battery might be the problem. I asked if this could be because it was off for two weeks, the contractor stated that it could possibly be a reason.

As FNB has bonded the property, you should be able to see that transfer only took place in August. The electric fence at the time of occupation was not working. We purchased a new energizer and battery late last year. Even with all the load shedding, there is NO WAY the battery is faulty a year later.

Kandua states this is not part of the claim. How so when it is directly linked to the claim?

This is a safety risk! Can FNB please do the right thing! And if costs need to be recuperated, then why not contact my neighbor? What is FNB insurance for exactly if they are not fully covering the claim and recuperating costs?
