Great story but nothing to back it up

I was coerced into opening an account with this bank. All good technology - quick SMS's and card delivery but when it comes down to it I cant log in to activate my card, the call centre is an endless queue and everything is back to manual. I now have a card, no account number, no way of activating anything other than going to the branch and standing on a queue. Not good enough FNB. Might as well stay where I am. At least they dont make promises and promote how on line everything . Now, how do I close this non-existent account before you start expecting me to pay for your non existent service ?
