Getting Credit not asked for
I received an sms stating "You qualify for a credit limit re-instatement on your overdraft and a debit card will be issued. Should you not want the credit limit re-instated reply No within 3 workings days".
Well I ignored it and low and behold they send a msg on my banking App saying : "We are pleased to inform you that your Fnb Overdraft Facility credit agreement has been re-instated for an amount of ***** and a debit card will be issued".
First off I never asked for an overdraft , Secondly I did state on my banking profile I do not want marketing msg.
In my opinion this is negative Option Marketing : What is a negative option marketing? The FTC uses the phrase “negative option marketing” broadly to refer to a category of commercial transactions in which sellers interpret a customer's failure to take an affirmative action, either to reject an offer or cancel an agreement, as assent to be charged for goods or services.
Just because I did not reply with a definite answer they went ahead and made a credit agreement with me that I have not app**** or asked for.
This is not right in my opinion
