Frustrating and Disgraceful
FNB’s handling of my account and its so-called “***** investigation” has been nothing short of appalling, demonstrating a level of incompetence that is unacceptable for any financial institution. Over two weeks ago, FNB informed me that my account had allegedly received the proceeds of *****. Without due process or evidence, they froze my account and instructed Capitec to freeze not only my accounts but also the accounts of anyone who received funds from me. This reckless action has resulted in multiple individuals, including relatives and business associates, being unjustly denied access to their own money.
Despite promptly providing FNB with all the required documentation, they have failed to make any progress or show any urgency in resolving this issue. To add insult to injury, FNB told me that I must process a refund first—while all of my accounts remain frozen at their request, and Capitec can only remove the hold for me to do the refund upon FNB’s instruction.
This gross negligence has affected over six individuals, blocking them from accessing their funds and salaries due to FNB’s complete failure to handle the matter professionally and efficiently. Despite charging me over R500 in fees each month, FNB’s consultants have shown a disturbing lack of urgency, effort, or accountability. Their dismal approach to customer service is not only frustrating but disgraceful. FNB’s conduct in this matter has caused significant financial harm, not just to myself, and their inability to resolve the situation promptly is beyond unacceptable.
