Frustrating
I have been trying to access my flexi fund, submitted documents last month already 18th November 2025 but all FNB is doing is taking me back and forth from pillar to post. Even after I explained that I need those funds activated and access to them so I can pay for my mothers medical care, she’s in hospital fighting cancer and instead of trying to save her I am busy back and forth with FNB, worse of all they don’t give a proper turn around time as to when I will be assisted or how. They asked to add my husband to the bond, sent all the needed but no feedback from recipient. I am just waiting on my mothers deaths

09 Dec 2025, 18:23I am extremely disappointed with the handling of my Flexi request, and I need clarity on one specific point:
Why is my husband being treated as a problem now?
Why is his nationality suddenly an obstacle?
Why is FNB showing clear bias and ************** toward a foreign national only when I want access to MY prepaid funds?
This entire situation raises serious questions.
When FNB was accepting payments into the bond every month —
✔️ My husband being a foreign national was NOT an issue.
When I deposited extra money into the bond —
✔️ His ID status was NOT an issue.
When the Flexi facility was created —
✔️ His nationality was NOT an issue.
When I resolved the “legal status” that FNB raised —
✔️ His nationality was NOT an issue.
But the moment I request MY OWN MONEY that I prepaid into my bond, suddenly it becomes a problem?
Why this sudden bias? Why this sudden **************?
You are refusing to release MY prepaid funds and blaming it on my husband’s foreign nationality — despite the fact that:
- I am the sole bond holder.
- I app**** for the bond before I was married.
- The prepaid funds were paid by ME.
- This has never been raised before in all the years of this bond.
This is not only inconsistent — it is offensive, discriminatory, and completely unjustified. Your emails even contradict each other:
- First, you say you cannot process anything because he has no South African ID.
- Then you say you need documents to add him to a bond he was never part of.
Why? On what lawful basis is this being requested? What policy is being app**** here? Or is this simply bias against foreign nationals? I will not accept being given excuses, contradictions, and incorrect information. I am demanding: 1. A written explanation for this sudden bias and **************. 2. The immediate release of my prepaid Flexi funds (R116,000). 3. Escalation of this matter to a senior manager today. If this is not resolved immediately, I will escalate:
- To the Banking Ombudsman
- And further if necessary
because what is happening here is unacceptable and ********. I expect answers today — real answers, not excuses.
