Frustrated FNB client
On Sunday the 3rd of September 2023, I requested Uber from Westering, PE to Merhantile Hospital, the fare was R71.00 I paid through my trusted bank FNB as usual. The next day I realized Uber charged me R417.00 for the trip. I immediately contacted Uber but never got the help I needed. I went to FNB branch in Metlife Plaza to dispute the transaction. I was assisted by a wonderful consultant, who also shared her same story about Uber. She asked me to log in to my banking app and disputed the transaction. I never received any messages acknowledging the dispute. Two days later I realized the transaction concluded with Uber and the bank charged me extra R200 for unpaid item, as there no funds in the account. I contacted FNB again, and I was promthe penalties will be reversed. For the first time my account is at -R1000 due to one transaction by an Uber driver that never stopped the trip after reaching my destination. And FNB is doing the same thing the Uber driver did to me. I am very angry for both Uber and FNB for failing to solve my problem.
