***** on my account - FNB doesn't care
I had two ********** transactions made via my card,to an online store that sells perfumes etc (FRAGRANCEX.com) of over R3000.00
I phoned FNB,logged the ***** and they canceled the card. BUT they basically couldn't tell me what will happen or when it will happen.
I was fast asleep, with my cards sitting in my wallet while these transactions were being made using one of the aforementioned cards - ok... Impossible.
NOW - FNB sent me an email a week or two ago, to inform me and MILLIONS of other South Africans of a breach in personal data, via the credit bureaus that they make use of. If this is a part of that data breach from their side, then why not take action?
I initially thought it was due to possible card skimming at a Mcdonalds, but it turns out that the transaction was on another of my cards. So somehow someone got my details ( and btw I don't do ANY online purchases or sales via this account or card) and started taking money out of my account (********** purchases) and not once was I informed of online sales occurinng, asked to provide an OTP or any other form of security set up on my accounts.
BRAVO FNB! BRAVO!
