Forex misrepresentation

More than 24 hours have passed since FNB **** to me and took more money than they should have from my bank account.

The facts below speak for themselves. FNB have so far failed to respond adequately.

I expect an immediate refund into my bank account of every cent that was taken from me yesterday under false pretenses, including the fees they charged for ripping me off, plus interest on the entire amount. Failing which - after another 24 hours - this matter will be taken further, on social media and through the official banking channels.

In an ideal world, FNB would also reimburse me for the time I have spent trying to resolve this with them, effectively doing their jobs for them.

From: John
Date: Wed, May 24, 2017 at 4:46 PM
Subject: Re: Payment Confirmation
To: ********** ********** **********

Hi

I've had no response to this email I sent to your forex people a few hours ago. We seem to have a situation where FNB owes me money.

Last week, I was told by FNB that the best way to make a foreign payment exceeding R50 000 is to contact FNB and book an exchange rate, rather than processing the transaction online as I had been doing for smaller amounts.

So earlier today I called your forex people ( ********** 739) to book a rate for a foreign payment exceeding R50 000. I was told by Brenda that I had to put this through your online system as normal, after which an FNB person would contact me to offer me a better rate. Brenda assured me that the online application would not go through until I had confirmed the better rate telephonically.

Nearly 3 hours later, nobody has contacted me, and the online transaction appears to have gone through, at a rate higher than I would have accepted, and for an amount larger than I would have paid if I had not been trying to exceed R50 000 in order to get a better rate.

I am obviously not happy. Please investigate urgently and come back to me with a solution, so that I can recover the money I appear to have lost during this transaction by following FNB's instructions.

Thank you.

On Wed, May 24, 2017 at 2:14 PM, John wrote:

Hi

Just to confirm - this payment should not have gone through yet.

I have been told twice now by your forex people ( ********** 739) that on any forex payments over R50 000, someone would call me and offer a better exchange rate.
