Forex Charge

On 13 August I made a payment to an international broker, and I received an SMS to confirm that indeed I made a payment of R 92373.39. I confirmed yes. Just to be clear the payment was in foreign currency this would mean that FNB charged me R 92373.39 in south African Rands, the transaction went through.

When I check my transaction history a few days later when I saw that there was about R 8000 missing, so I check my transaction. It appears now that FNB paid R 101092.17. So, I contacted my banker to find out how did R 92373.39 change to R 101092.17? She followed up with the credit card department they said this is the money the broker charged. If I want they can reverse the transaction. Well I do not have the problem with transaction as I said I confirmed that. My issue is FNB quoted me R 92373.39 which miraculously changed to R 101092.17.

So, I told the bank that I need to know how they converted the money meaning what was asked by the broker in foreign currency and how it was calculated. So, this morning I get the feedback that they do not know how much was charged in foreign currency and their fee is 2.75%.

This here does not make sense hence the complaint, you do not know how you calculated 2.75%? and yet you charged me. Let me add I am not sending money for the first time in foreign currency I did this a number of times, I have never had a problem with how I was quoted. The issue here is I made a transaction FNB quoted me R 92373.39 and I accepted that, now it changes to R 101092.17.

I need a clear explanation of what happened here, how much was requested in foreign currency and how did FNB covert that. R 8000 is a lot of Money I want this rectified.
