Forced to declare a home loan I do not pay for.

As a client who’s been banking with FNB for years I am saddened by the manner in how my application has been handled. I have asked to move my accounts (credit card)to FNB so I can do all my banking with them. My application was declined due to affordability because I have a joint bond with my spouse. Ipfi Tshamano and Zephorah Mahlokwane advised that should my spouse not be able to pay for the bond I will be liable for paying hence I cannot be approved. My concern is, my spouse has monthly expenses that are probably 7x my salary and he is still given more credit without consideration of my affordability should anything happen to him. What is the insurances for disability/ loss of employment for? My affordability is now based on the bond I don’t pay for and has been declared as an expense by my spouse under him. Is FNB condoning more credit for the ones with higher income and nothing for the low incomers especially if they have a joint bond. Which law is this so I can be more educated about it? Worse is being offered a consolidation loan instead which I refused.
