FNB:TIME TO CHANGE YOUR SLOGAN

Good Day

I received an email from FNB on the 29th of April 2020 advising me that an overdraft facility I had held for over 15 years would be placed on a monthly reduction with immediate effect. This account I should add has been conducted exceptionally since inception and has no excess or dishonors on record.I am a sole trader and have been a loyal customer of the bank for over 15 years.

FNB, please advise on the below, as I simply cannot understand how you can justify choosing to do this during the crisis we are all currently going through

1. Are loyal small business clients valued by the bank? 2. Was the facility suddenly taken to safeguard your balance sheet during this crisis? 3.Do you think this was fair and just?

Please note that I had alternative business trading accounts and requested my manager to migrate the O/D to the new trading account on the 6th of Dec 2018. The interest he was offering on new trading account was higher than what I had on the current facility. The new interest they were offering was equivalent to what what ************ money lenders offer, I could not accept same and decided then to rather continue using that O/D as it was more affordable. I find it amusing that the bank was aware that the account was not trading then, however have only decided to remove the limit now during this pandemic when I probably need it most. Last question,FNB is this how you help your clients?
